Main Street Dreamers

Living the dream, one Disney moment at a time.

Disney World beyond the rides

There are so many rides in Disney World, it would take a week to experience it all. However, the truth is that there’s so much more to experience at WDW, and here are our 3 favourites.

Incredible dining

Whether it’s eating around the world at Epcot or enjoying Mickey shaped waffles at breakfast, food is its own adventure here. You could eat almost anywhere at Walt Disney World and be completely satisfied. Here is our perfect day itinerary for your Disney dining day.

Breakfast – The Riverside Mill (Port Orleans Riverside)

Breakfast for us often starts at our Walt Disney resort, most recently of which was Port Orleans Riverside. Begin with a waffle bounty platter or a create your own omelette for the perfect start to your day.

Lunch – Regal Eagle Smokehouse, Epcot

Regal Eagle has some of the most reasonably priced BBQ at Walt Disney World, and you can find something to please everyone in your family. Consider the pulled pork platter or the mac and cheese for a perfect filler for your day.

Dinner – Via Napoli, Epcot

Without a doubt, our favourite pizza at Walt Disney World can be found at Via Napoli. Incredible pizzas, tasty pasta and the best cannoli’s, what more could you want? Even though this place may be on the expensive side, these pizzas are large enough that your whole family can share!

Character encounters

From a warm hug from Mickey to a happy wave from your favourite princess, these moments are some that your kids….and you will never forget. Tip – Always keep an eye out on the My Disney Experience app as you will be able to see which characters will be greeting that day. Also, ensure that you keep an eye out for those extra special rare or new characters. Figment has been our absolute favourite to meet this year, so don’t miss out!

Disney’s resorts

Touring the Walt Disney resorts would take a whole two week vacation, but choosing a few of your favourites can be a great way to spend a day. Grab breakfast at Boma over at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Find your way to Beach Club for a beaches and cream lunch. Finally, head over to California grill for dinner and an incredible view of the fireworks. Each resort has its own feel, from an African savannah to a Polynesian tropical escape, no resort is the same.

So yes, the rides are unforgettable. However, the true heart of Disney World lies in the little things; the dinner shared with family, the incredible characters and the sparkles in your family’s eyes when they see their favourite characters. That’s where the real magic is.
